The Hillman Postdoctoral Fellows for Innovative Cancer Research program, made possible by a generous donation from the Henry L. Hillman Foundation, seeks the nation’s top graduate students and early-stage postdoctoral fellows to pursue leading-edge cancer research in Hillman laboratories at the University of Pittsburgh.
This very competitive program will consider only exceptional candidates who have strong scientific backgrounds and are highly self-motivated in their pursuit of postdoctoral studies. Hillman Postdoctoral Fellows will receive both a stipend (20% above the current NIH level) and a generous career development fund.
A select group of applicants will be invited, at no personal cost, to attend a required special event this October in Pittsburgh to meet with prospective faculty mentors. All are nationally and internationally recognized scientists whose research spans seven thematic areas: biobehavioral oncology, cancer biology, cancer epidemiology and prevention, cancer immunology and immunotherapy, cancer therapeutics, cancer virology, and genome stability.
The University of Pittsburgh is a world-class research institution that currently ranks in the top five in the nation for NIH funding and the city of Pittsburgh is recognized for its livability and culture. Pittsburgh offers many vibrant neighborhoods with affordable housing, award-winning cuisine, and interesting cultural events, and was recently rated as the second-best city for millennials.
Application deadline for this program is August 31, 2018.
