The Cancer Biology Training Consortium is pleased to offer trainee programming at this year’s Annual Retreat! Member institutions may registered two trainees, preferably one graduate student and one postdoctoral fellow, if applicable.

Trainee-focused events and sessions include:

Trainee Social, Sunday, October 22 12:30pm-2:45pm PT
Get a head start on networking! All Trainees are invited to attend this outdoor event on the hotel’s Marea Lawn.

Poster Session Event, Monday, October 23
Trainees will present their posters for Best Graduate Student poster and Best Postdoc poster cash awards on the Monday afternoon. Posters will be hung on Monday morning and available all day for viewing. All trainees are expected to participate in this event by presenting a poster. Submit Poster Abstract HERE by October 1.

Speed Mentoring Event, Sunday, October 22
Here’s your chance to meet new mentors from outside your institution! Trainees will participate in three rounds of mentoring. Trainees will be asked to select three mentors to meet, questions or topics they are interested in discussing, and provide their current research and career goals in advance; submission portal opens October 1. All trainees are expected to participate in this event.

Career Panel, Monday, October 23
Hear from members of different sectors of academia, government, nonprofit and industry on navigating career paths.

Plus general sessions on F & K Awards, Diversity, Mentoring and Updates from the National Cancer Institute.

Agenda

Trainee Registration Package ($900) includes two-nights in a shared hotel guest room (queen-queen beds), five meals, and all related conference fees, taxes and gratuities. Rooming assignments are by gender and at CABTRAC’s discretion.
